High School & College Opportunities

In addition to our adult choruses we also have two opportunities for young adults to experience the magic of choral masterwork.

Young Artist in Residence

Charlotte Master Chorale’s Young Artist in Residence (YAR) program offers high school singers (sophomores through seniors) the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the Charlotte Master Chorale Main Chorus and Artistic Staff for select projects, as well as take small group voice classes with our highly-skilled faculty. This year, Young Artists in Residence will be invited to join us for our Celebration of Joy concert, featuring André Thomas’s Gospel Mass conducted by guest conductor, Dr. Brandon Boyd. Thanks to generous donations and sponsors, there is no cost to participants.

NextGen

Charlotte Master Chorale’s NextGen program serves as a training ground for young adult singers (18–22) to rehearse and perform with the Charlotte Master Chorale Main Chorus for select projects, with the goals of preparing new voices to join our ranks as full members and supplementing local university singing opportunities. Thanks to generous donations and sponsors, there is no cost to participants.
