High School & College Opportunities

In addition to our adult choruses we also have two opportunities for young adults to experience the magic of choral masterpieces.

Young Artist in Residence

Charlotte Master Chorale’s Young Artist in Residence (YAR) program offers high school singers (sophomores through seniors) the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the Charlotte Master Chorale Main Chorus and Artistic Staff for select projects, as well as take small group voice classes with our highly-skilled faculty. This year, Young Artists in Residence are invited to join us for our performance of Duruflé Requiem with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Thanks to generous donations and sponsors, there is no cost to participants.

NextGen

Charlotte Master Chorale’s NextGen program serves as a training ground for young adult singers (18–22) to rehearse and perform with the Main Chorus for select projects, with the goals of supplementing local university singing opportunities and preparing new voices to join our ranks. This season, NextGen singers are invited to join us for Rachmaninoff Vespers (January–February 2026). Thanks to generous donations and sponsors, there is no cost to participants.

Interested students should contact our Education Coordinator, Aj Calpo ([email protected]).
