Chorus Manager
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Chorus Manager position supports the administrative needs of the organization’s choruses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Roster management;
• Schedule, attend, and facilitate auditions for the choruses;
• Coordinate details of auditions, including location and schedule with new and returning singers;
• Chorus rehearsal, performance, and special event logistics and management;
• Attend all rehearsals and performances;
• Maintain attendance records for rehearsals and performances;
• Enforce attendance and performance dress policies;
• Acquire, distribute, and collect choral performance material;
• Send weekly chorus communications (more as needed) to keep chorus updated on news and changes;
• Serve as liaison between chorus and artistic/operations team;
• Collect “dues”, ticket, and other payments from singers;
• Monitor and report on chorus morale and esprit;
• Assist operations staff in maintaining a collegial atmosphere among singers, operations management, and Board of Directors;
• Serve as administrative assistant to the Artistic Director;
• Assist with maintaining accurate records and archives; and
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or needed.
Required Qualifications
• Music background: choral training is a plus;
• Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills;
• Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomacy skills;
• Experience with facilitating large groups of people;
• Ability to think and act quickly for the benefit of the Chorale in high pressure situations;
• Excellent computer skills (Google Workspace, MailChimp, etc.);
• Access to home office space;
• Access to personal vehicle;
• Availability and willingness to work evenings and weekends;
• Undergraduate degree preferred.
Compensation:
$20/hour, approximately 40–50 hours per month
