Our Cause
Proceeds from our 75th Anniversary Gala will support Charlotte Master Chorale’s future artistic initiatives, including our newest ensemble, the Young People’s Chorus.
Beginning in Fall 2026, the Young People’s Chorus will be an auditioned ensemble for high school students from across the region, rehearsing weekly during the school year and offered at no cost to participants. Designed to complement existing school choral programs, the ensemble will provide students with opportunities to develop their musical skills, perform at a high level, and collaborate with peers from diverse schools and communities.
At a time when many middle and high school choral programs are declining, the Young People’s Chorus seeks to serve as a vital center for arts education—fostering not only musical excellence, but also the creativity, empathy, discipline, and confidence that the arts help cultivate in young people.
Special thanks to Bill Crowder, whose generous founding gift makes the Charlotte Master Chorale Young People’s Chorus possible.

Our Chef

Peter Olsacher, Carolina Gourmet’s executive chef, has always been passionate about food and traveling. He began his culinary career in his native Austria, where he worked at Michelin-starred “Hotel Post” in Villach for 3 years under executive chef Heinz Wiener. He then worked for 8 years in the Cayman Islands in some of the finest restaurants and resorts in the area. Afterwards, he returned to Austria to serve as the executive chef at the restaurant “Oscar.” He was awarded a Michelin star in the first year after it opened.
Peter then moved to Orlando, Florida, where he worked as a Corporate Executive Chef of a Fortune 500 company for more than 20 years. During that time, he enjoyed competing in Culinary competitions and was awarded 12 gold medals, including 2 during national conventions of the American Culinary Federation in Las Vegas and Washington DC.
In 2020, Peter and his wife, Mayra, moved to Mooresville, NC, to open Carolina Gourmet. It is his great joy to apply his 40 years of professional culinary experience to offer fresh, gourmet meals for people to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes.
